New Member Education

A Values-Driven Experience

The Epsilon Iota Chapter is committed to a positive, educational, and values-driven new member program with zero tolerance for hazing.

The Epsilon Iota Chapter of Kappa Alpha Order is committed to providing a positive, educational, and values-driven new member experience. While every new member participates in an education program designed to prepare them for lifelong membership in our brotherhood, our chapter maintains zero tolerance for hazing in any form. We believe the purpose of new member education is to develop individuals, not diminish them.

Our program is focused on helping new members build the skills, confidence, and character necessary to succeed both during college and beyond. Throughout their first semester, new members receive mentorship and guidance from active brothers while learning about the history, traditions, and values of both Kappa Alpha Order and the Epsilon Iota Chapter.

In addition to learning about our organization, our program emphasizes practical life skills and personal development. Topics may include time management, academic success, physical fitness, financial responsibility, organization, communication, professionalism, and building healthy relationships. We also encourage members to develop the qualities of a true gentleman through integrity, respect, accountability, and service to others.

Each week of the program is centered around one or more of the six values that define our chapter, providing new members with opportunities to understand and apply these principles in their daily lives. Our goal is to ensure that every new member leaves the program with a strong foundation, meaningful friendships, and the tools needed to become an engaged leader within our chapter, on campus, and throughout their lifetime.
